Git Cloning {SOLVED}

Post by Black Swordsman » Sun Nov 25, 2018 8:20 am

I am trying to clone a github repository by using git and I keep recieving the error

Code: Select all

$ git clone https://github.com/CelestiaProject/Celestia.git
Cloning into 'Celestia'...
remote: Enumerating objects: 117, done.
remote: Counting objects: 100% (117/117), done.
remote: Compressing objects: 100% (82/82), done.
error: RPC failed; curl 56 GnuTLS recv error (-9): A TLS packet with unexpected length was received.
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
fatal: early EOF
fatal: index-pack failed
my question is, am I receiving the errors due to having a slow internet connection? If so is there something that I can add to the git clone that would make it easier to get what I am wanting?

I have already tried downloading the zip and it wont download (again I am assuming because I have a slow internet)
I am currently trying to download using ssh instead of HTTP to see if that works any better

Try in terminal with

Code: Select all

wget -t 0 -T 10 https://github.com/CelestiaProject/Celestia/archive/master.zip

for some reason, using ssh for the git clone actually worked
