Just downloaded Mint 19 & noticed it was marked V2.-- Is there any significance in the V2? - I also noticed it had a different sha256 sum to another version.

There was a bug in the first version that sometimes came into play when people were installing it while connected to the internet. That has been patched in version 2, so you can safely install V2 while the machine is online. That is the only difference.
