Clementine icons look horrible

Post by King Mob » Wed Dec 05, 2018 12:55 pm

i've just done a clean install of linux mint 19 cinnamon on a new laptop, installed clementine, and the icons look horrible and old. i had this fixed on my old laptop, which was also mint 19 cinnamon, but i can't seem to fix it again on this one. i've installed qtconfig, set the GUI style to GTK+, but it has no effect on the appearance in clementine. any ideas what i'm doing wrong. thanks.

I found the same thing when I installed the non-flatpak Clementine off the Mint Software Manager.

The only solution I found was to uninstall that version, and install the Flatpak version. All the icons now look the way they should - but now album art doesn't appear in the taskbar Sound app. (I think it's to do with Flatpak apps being effectively sandboxed away from the rest of the system.)
