view of Sandisk website ???
This website's view is text. Is that the way it is supposed to be ?
https://shop.sandisk.com/store/sdiskus/ ... rm=sandisk
I am viewing it on Linux Mint 19.1 mate Mozilla Firefox - all updates applied.
Yes, I know this is not the official Sandisk site.
Thanks.

Re: view of Sandisk website ???
Same here in Firefox but in Chromium it is as it should.
Re: view of Sandisk website ???
My Firefox displayed it properly. uBlock Origin shows 6 blocked items.

Re: view of Sandisk website ???
Edit - Preferences - Privacy & Security -> Choose what to Block ->
either uncheck this, or set it to "Only in private windows"...and the site will display properly
(else, fiddle with the rest of Privacy settings there...maybe something else affects it further, but i rather doubt it).
If nada...then this means you must have been further manually fiddling with about:config entries at some point
Or you have some weird extension added: tested with both uBlock & NoScript loaded here,
and had no issues whatsoever (after tweaking the above setting).

So now, my next question is what is "private windows" ?
Thanks.

Re: view of Sandisk website ???
Thanks for your reply.
I don't want to beat a dead horse but I don't exactly understand all of this.
Why is it that how the website is displayed (as normal graphics or in this all text thing)
be dependent on how that "trackers" parameter is set ? Is it simply possible that there
is something in the way this particular Sandisk website is written that is out of sync so
to speak with the norm of other websites and that the developers of this website need to adjust the
code for this website to make it compatible with the Firefox browser because as someone else
mentioned (and I have confirmed) that it is displayed just fine in Chromium browser ?
If you open the other official Sandisk website with the private windows parameter set otherwise
it displays just fine.
Thanks.

Re: view of Sandisk website ???
Honestly, I couldn't understand what the whole thing was all about either. The site displays normally in my Chromium with all the adblocker and anti-tracker extensions enabled. In firefox with the same set of extensions and the same configuration, the site didn't display as it should. I even disabled all the extensions and still it didn't work.

Re: view of Sandisk website ???
Works fine on Waterfox (latest version it seems):
.. this is Manjaro but the OS shouldn't make any difference?
Add-ons are the same as on my Mint machines.
Code: Select all
2 aur/waterfox-bin 56.2.6-1 [installed] (84) (2.49)
64-Bit optimized Firefox, no data collection, allows unsigned extensions
Add-ons are the same as on my Mint machines.

Re: view of Sandisk website ???
you are using an adblocker/tracking blocker that is blocking drh, drh1 and drh2,that are all part of img.digitalriver.com services which own this site. if you want to see the images, then you must enable it to do so...yes your blockers are indeed very good, at least as good as mine are as i tend to block everything unless needed...the key is knowing which ad/tracking blocker is doing so and either whitelisting them or if using privacy badger, give them "yellow" permissions to partially block them and still be able to see the images...yes even the images are able to send messages back home to mama...DAMIEN
