wine + dx9c

Post by claudiofm »

hello has all

I will comment on a good problem to have

wine + dx9c

- After install linuxmint64 = all ok
- After activating linuxmint update repositories = all ok

- Install wine and follow these steps dx9c

http://howto.landure.fr/gnu-linux/insta ... using-wine

= All ok, (I install a dll. That brings no serial) = all ok

- Testing the dx9 = all ok

- Installs and runs Vanguard = all ok

the problem is to update the nvidia drivers in the past to get the full power of my graphics card

discharged from the nvidia website, last 185.18.14.run

- I no longer have dx9, the game tells me that dx9 not detected, look for me and I see that tb opengl disabled to the reinstatement, the ddiang
em no longer fails to start but I still have dx9

someone can tell me where the bug?

You attempted to install nvidia native drivers for a windows OS, and it didn't work..
--wine is not a windows OS
Likely that is the problem, using an nvidia windows driver under wine, which isn't a complete windows system, despite the direct x support, may not work well enough to be useful.

Wine is a implementation of Windows API on Linux. Even if it is quite complete, it still miss some DirectX functionalities. This article present how to add this missing functionalities by installing native DirectX 9.0c in your Wine environment.

Over the last year, you have overwhelmingly voted in favor of Shader Model 2.0 and improved Direct3D 9 support. We are pleased to report that these are two long-term projects that have finally come to fruition! GLSL support allows users access to the high-quality effects only available in Direct3D's Shader Model 2.0. At the same time, FBO improvements mean improved graphics, allow for better DirectX 9 compatibility, and make a number of new graphics features available.
