Program not using my preferred browser as default?

Post by pendrifter » Fri Feb 08, 2019 9:00 pm

Firefox is my preferred XFCE browser application, and until a short time ago apps obeyed that rule. Now suddenly, something is jumping up in the way (see screenshot) and interfering. If I click on the "Find Compatible Applications in Software" it tries to invoke a non-existent "gnome-software" and hangs there, forcing me to kill it. It's obviously associated with Gnome in some manner, but I don't have much in the way of Gnome components installed. Anyway, somebody please tell me what it is and what I have to uninstall to get rid of it. Thanks.
