WoW on Mint 7 Gloria

Postby AAMinistry » Fri Jul 10, 2009 10:08 pm

Hi guys. I am completely new to Mint 7 and still a newbie to Linux in general. I apologise now as I'm sure this has been asked and covered but I cannot find the solution for my problem. Essentially I want to switch to Linux permanently but this hinges on being able to play World of Warcraft. I have installed Wine 1.0.1 and set it up as recommended in various places. I have done everything I believe I need but when I run the game, at the login screen I get severely distorted graphics and I cannot progress any further.

Is there a step-by-step guide for this on Mint 7 that a newbie can understand?

If not can anyone help me, including the possible uninstall of whatever I have done so far.

I should mention that I have not freshly installed WoW, I have taken it from my Windows XP partition and run the WoW repair tool.

Any help gratefully accepted!
