Re: OpenTX companion installation In Mint 18.3
I now have it installed. phd21 found the xenial file for me, which worked.
I'll supply details if anyone else should happen to be interested.
Jim.

It's worthwhile providing the details now. Someone may need it and find it in a search.

Hi Wompoo (Jim),
You are welcome...
For Anyone Else interested in this.
Here is a copy of what I sent Jim (Wompoo) regarding OpenTX.
I found versions of opentx-companion22 for Linux Mint 18.x based on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial which should install on your Linux Mint 18.3 Mate system. If you tried to install their newest version 2.3, that may or may not work. I provided links to both versions below and with all deb files, just save the file and double-click it to install it.
OpenTX version 2.2.1 for Linux Mint 18.x (Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial)
https://launchpad.net/~opentx-test/+arc ... _amd64.deb
Newest OpenTX version 2.2.3 in a deb file which may or may not work in Linux Mint 18.3 (and 19.x), if not use the link above for v2.2.1
https://downloads.open-tx.org/2.2/relea ... _amd64.deb
FYI: Open-TX Downloads and website
http://www.open-tx.org/downloads
* Adding this: After installing software that can update hardware, I would highly recommend restarting your computer before using it.
Hope this helps ...
