Mint Cinnamon 19.1 And KDE Plasma 5.15.4

Post by MrGrimm » Tue Apr 16, 2019 10:15 am

i was in the kde forums asking them about plasma 5.15.4 and mint cinnamon 19.1, and one member claims that plasma 5.12 id the highest for mint right now. i have to question his answer since he thought this is cosmic and not bionic. so to my question can 5.15.4 be used alongside cinnamon 19.1? please no question about why i would want to do this, don't want the thread going off on some tangent about why not to do it. thanks

The Ubuntu Bionic repos have got 5.12.7 - so that's all you are going to get without adding additonal repos.

You could attempt to add the KDE neon repo to a Mint install. Don't know how well that would work. Search Install Neon over Kubuntu for guidance.

Or you could use a Distro that has the latest stable version of both desktops in it's repos - i.e. Arch based such as Manjaro.
For custom Nemo actions, useful scripts for the Cinnamon desktop, and Cinnamox themes visit my Github pages.

think i's see how neon plays with mint 19.1, not liking the idea of arch. i like the mint base cause of the way it is put together. thanks for the input.
