Libreoffice Organization

Post by Berodney »

Hello all,

I currently have an extremely long libreoffice doc that I'm trying to organize quickly. Currently I've been doing it manually, but was wondering if anyone has any tips to help.

The document currently looks like:

I want it to look like:

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Nick

Writer, do you think I would be better off transferring the text to calc? Didn't even really think of that.

Thanks,

I wasn't suggesting Calc, though I find it's actually a good way to lay out that sort of tabular text.

Have you inadvertently set the line spacing to double in Writer?

over the years, even with MicroSloth,

a spreadsheet has been simplest and easiest way to set up tabular data.

No, I copied and pasted the text from this website:
https://www.bodybuilding.com/content/hd ... rning.html

and then ran a script to remove all photos.

Is there a special way to paste the text. I'm copying the tables from a website and when I post it into calc it all goes into one cell.

Thanks,
Nick

I just looked at several recepies and they all show a continuous sentence without any comma or tab delimiting.
That being said, if you need to put things into a table how about bringing your text up in a write document and then going down every line after the product and before the quantity and tab so that the item is in a seperate clm.
The easiest way to do all of this is to set up a DB and then enter each item into a sepperate record with appropriate fields.

Ok, so it's going to take some manual work. Was going to try to make the website printable (if I formatted it the way I show above it would be about 20 pages, without the format its 200 pages) , but maybe I'll just refer to the website instead of printing it out.

Thanks,
