Hi gm10
What is nenmo and where do I find it, whats it for. I searched Nemo came up with /home/user. Nemo 2.8Gb used, 57Gb free space in properties ]
Nemo is your CInnamon desktop's default file manager, should be called "Files" in the menu. Maybe just run this is a terminal window to determine free space of your root partition:

Code: Select all

df / -h
Hi GM10
Yes when typed in nemo it came up file, but showed different usage, see results bellow.

Code: Select all

xxx@xxx-Lenovo-ideapad-100S ~ $ df / -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda5 66G 9.0G 54G 15% /
rpa3@rpa3-Lenovo-ideapad-100S ~ $

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg --configure -a
Hi Pjotr
Looks like all packages updated OK, update manager window still empty, at the very bottom left side it says, a new version of update manager is available. I used synaptic to install update manager and dependencies, opened update manager refreshed, still nothing.
Regards Andow
Of course, because all updates have been installed now by means of the terminal command. No need to install them twice, right?
Hi Pjotr
I rerun the code "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" rebooted check update manager now says system is up to date, brilliant"
Thank you, your are a champion much appreciated Andow.

I am also facing this problem.
I've already done

Code: Select all

apt-get upgrade
and after some time I can see I have packages to update with

Code: Select all

apt list --upgradable
but mintupdate still says I'm up to date.
Running it from the shell only show sometimes this line:

Code: Select all

(mintSources.py:1907): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 13:27:32.772: gtk_list_store_get_value: assertion 'iter_is_valid (iter, list_store)' failed

For anyone still having problems with this, the instructions here worked for me: https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/08/fix ... tory-error

that Fix The Google GPG Error on Ubuntu isn't related to this Update Manager failing, though.
