On my Mint, there's ClipGrab 3.8.2 installed by means of this PPA.

Meanwhile, there's an appimage of ClipGrab 3.8.3 available.
But how can I install this one, as if it was an ordinary app and not as an appimage, please?

I also have Clipgrab installed, or rather, downloaded from that ppa and installed by Gdeb (Package Installer).
I do not like to add ppa. I'd rather go in ppa and download the corresponding ".deb" file.

Simple:
In ppa click on "View package details".
Choose the version of Clipgrab according to your version of Mint.
Mint 18 = Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial
Mint 19 = Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic
And also according to the bits of your version (32 or 64 bits).
And download the corresponding ".deb" file. Example:
clipgrab_ xxxxx_amd64.deb -> for 64 bit
clipgrab_xxxxx_i386.deb -> for 32 bits
With the ".deb" file, install by the Package Installer (Gdeb).

i have not seen the newest version of clipgrab as an update from the update manager via the ppa way of doing so even though 3.8.3 version has been available for linux for maybe about 2 months now...i think in future the only way may be through "appimage" file...here is the proceedure to do so through LM...it is very easy and makes it work almost like a windows .exe file...here is the instructions on how to do it:

Download appimage file from here:
https://clipgrab.org/

Click on this:
Free Download 3.8.3 for Linux:

Follow these easy instructions:
By default, the downloaded AppImage file won’t have the execution permission. You’ll have to change the permission on the Appimage file itself to make it executable.

Just right click on the downloaded .appimage file and select Properties.

Click Permissions tab.

Click box that says "Execute" Allow executing file as program and then close.

That’s it. You have made the file executable.

Now just left click the appimage file downloader and it will just be there...DAMIEN

This tool is now available in Synaptic, respectively within the update manager.
So: Problem solved!
