New 5.1 Kernel

Post by buscon »

hi everyone,

I was wondering when the new 5.1 kernel is planned for linux mint.

As I have a RME UCX soundcard, I am eager to test how the new kernel is improving the usage of this soundcard:

Thank you

Never. 5.1 is end of life. ;)

The next HWE-edge kernel this fall will be 5.2 or 5.3.

Looks like it'll be the 5.2:

Eoan releases October 17th, kernel.org will release 5.3 in September, so it's quite possible or even very probable that Canonical will go with the latter if it is not delayed and they find no issues with it. Their usual version freeze is only roughly 3 weeks before release.

Quite afraid using bleeding-edge kernel. May introduce to instability.
5 years using Linux Mint, it's feels like my own neighbourhood.
