Java and ActiveX

Post by bensode » Fri Aug 16, 2019 11:04 am

Hi everyone. I need to be able to run IE8, IE9 and Firefox versions that will allow java browser apps to run. There are certain tools that I need to be able to run java browser plugin and ActiveX extensions for IPMI, KVM and iLo tools. I was thinking that a Wine installation would suit this purpose but if someone has any suggestions ... I've tried IcedTea with chromium and Firefox but these fail to run the java apps and neither supports ActiveX. Running these from an RDP session into a Windows system works but I need at least Java browser plugin to run natively on my Linux Mint desktop -- IE in Wine would be great too. Any suggestions?
