Burning DVD for DVD Player

Post by Palladini »

Hi All!
I am wondering, I have Linux Mint 19.2 Tina Cinnamon running here and I have Installed KINO and KDENLIVE. Now if set Kdenlive to render out in Mpeg 2, Is there any program that can burn those Mpeg 2 files to DVD so that file will play, with menus, if needed and in a format that will work in almost any DVD player?

I ask this because I just transferred about 40 VHS and other forms of tapes to my computer for my Wife's Sister, and I did so on the Windows 7 Pro Operating System, and I am fed up because my Windows will not recognize the two DVD drive I have in my system, but Linux Mint does.

Thanks for help Folks!

Hi Palladini,

There sure is, Bombono is my favorite for this, then DVDstyler, and then DeVeDe. There are also many good posts in this forum on this topic.

Well I found out, Linux Mint does not recognize my DVD drives either. I got K3b and couple DVD burning programs and none of them recognize my DVD drives.

You can open a terminal from your Menu, or by triple keypress Ctrl+Alt+t
when the terminal opens enter inxi -d and press enter. (note the space between inxi and -d)

I have opened K3b, and inserted 2 DVD disks in the drive and K3b does see either of them.

Do the disks show up in the File Manager if you put them in a drive??
