Is Seti@home screen saver possible?

Post by farkas » Tue Sep 10, 2019 11:20 pm

Installed linux version of BOINC, https://boinc.berkeley.edu/ . Donating my spare cpu cycles to Seti@home.
It's working with one minor problem, no graphics display. In Boinc manager there is a Show graphis button, when I click on it nothing happens. It is not greyed out. Is there a way to make it work?

There are a great screensavers for seti@home. https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_graphics.php .
Mint 19.2 screen saver settings has no option for running it.
Found a possible solution in a post by smurphos, viewtopic.php?f=42&t=284037 , for Mint 19.1.
Would this work in Mint 19.2? If it does, can I make the seti@home screen saver to work in it?

Thank you.
