how to change default duplicate file rename in caja file broswer

Post by maihoaomv » Wed Sep 11, 2019 4:47 pm

Linux Mint 18.2 Mate
In the caja file browser, if I CTRL-C on highlighted file then CTRL-V it renames the copied duplicate file something like filename (copy).ext
i.e. the duplicate copy of m350m.pdf would be renamed to m350m (copy).pdf
My question is, how do I reconfigure caja to change the default rename from (copy) to something else. Say for instance: m350m.pdf would be renamed to m350m.pdf-save-1.

Depends. If you are using a localized version then you could modify the translation file of your locale to change this, otherwise you'd have to change caja's source code to modify this (libcaja-private/caja-file-operations.c)
Tune up your LM 19.x: ppa:gm10/linuxmint-tools
