PHP & Apache - Blank page

Post by xor10 » Thu Oct 17, 2019 3:23 am

HTML is working fine on localhost (URL "localhost" entered in my browser, so Apache is working) but when trying to run PHP page on localhost it's being shown blank. PHP is working in terminal. But i don't know why Apache and PHP together not working, libapache2-mod-php is installed. Restarted apache (sudo systemctl restart apache2 and sudo service apache2 restart). Restarted my computer. The PHP page is:
<?php
phpinfo();

PHP 7.2.19, Apache 2.4.29, Mint 19.2 Tina

If you want to run server application, then Ubuntu server runs LAMP stack out of the box, no installations are required. But it has command mode only, to which you can add minimum gui too later.

Workaround

Post by xor10 » Thu Oct 24, 2019 5:18 am

I googled "download lamp", downloaded and installed the standalone software given in the first result, it worked! With added benefit that i was able to find older version of the software as i was preferring older version of PHP.
