I normally do all updates that get pushed through the update manager and haven't had an issue doing that until today. There were four updates available so I installed them-
'apport' 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.9
'chromium-browser' 78.0.3904.70-0ubuntu0.10.04
'cpio' 2.12+dfsg-6ubuntu0.18.04.1
'bind9' 1:9.113+dfsg-1ubuntu1.10
After installing these, my PC has a random freeze that can't be recovered from, I have to hard reset via power button. There is no rhyme or reason as to when the freeze happens- doesn't matter what program is open, computer being used or locked, can freeze after 5min or 1 hour. I repeated the freeze about 10 times so far just to prove to myself I wasn't going nuts, then decided to Timeshift back to before the updates. After reverting, everything is fine again and no crashing so that eliminates hardware going south I suppose.
What would be the proper way to go about fixing the problem or finding exactly what is causing it? I don't have the time to install each one of those updates individually, take a new timeshift for each one, revert to old timeshift after each one, etc. as this PC does work during the 16 hours a day I have it up.
