if you click on Update Manager, on the bottom Taskbar,
- then on Edit - Software Sources - - Official Repositories.
then on the Bottom of that screen - - click on 'Restore the default settings'.
- finally, then click on 'Update Cache' in the Top Right Corner.
and close off, the Update Manager.

then wait, for a while, to see if any other updates, now appear & update them, as normal.

When you restore to the default sources list, you will lost your (Google) Chrome software source (bear that in mind)
So better first archive your software source before restore to default

Hello, muffybean.

Actually, most of the warnings, which Update Manager displays to you, are about "target .... configured multiple times ...", in plain English: about duplicate entries.
You can fix this problem, without resetting everything to factory defaults:
  1. Close Update Manager
  2. Launch Software Sources from the Mint application menu.
  3. Click on the big [Maintenance] button. Click on [Remove duplicate entries]
  4. Close Software Sources.
Launch Update Manager again. It should not complain about "target .... configured multiple times ..." any longer.

The last error message in your post,

Code: Select all

W: Failed to fetch http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/c/chromium-browser/chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra_79.0.3945.130-0ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb
404 Not Found [IP: 2001:67c:1560:8001::14 80]
should have been automatically resolved as well, because Upate Manager will have refreshed its list of available software packages and found out that chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra has advanced from v79 to v80 by now.
The previous v79 package could no longer be retrieved, the v80 package should be downloaded and installed without any further issue.

HTH,
Karl

Many thanks again karlchen. That did the trick.
