solved lm-19.3 file-roller extraction does not retain modification time

Post by sadhu »

How to retain the mod date/time when extracting files from an archive using file-roller?

What I mean is, I want the mod date/time of the file(s) that end up on my local hard disk to be the same as those in the archive.

unzip maintains the date; why not file-roller?

Hi sadu,

Are you sure? I have tested file-roller now, there seems to be no difference between the original and archived-then-extracted file. Granted, creation and access dates changed, but the modification date kept the same...
