Firefox 78.0.1 wont open new tabs

Post by lsemmens »

I've just installed Mint 20 which "upgraded" Firefox too. I managed to fix a problem with using google as a search engine thanks to Xenopeek, but this one has me stumped.

My usual settings default to opening any link that I click on into a Background Tab. Along the same lines as middle click. The settings in about:config ( browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground = true
and:
browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground = true)
do not seem to work, or have I missed something?

Hmmmm,

I think I tested that on my LM20 install, have not fired it up in a few days now.
that is one of the very first things I do, is to set up FF Sync which automatically installs all of my Preferences and extensions.

and that is the one I use the most.... click on link, opens to new Tab on top.

I'm using my daily driver laptop now, 19.3 Cinnamon and checked the version number.
FF 78.0.2
Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon

I, too, use FF synch, but, for some reason, this part never seems to sych. I thought I had saved a copy of all of my settings to an offline file, but, either, I missed something, or something has changed
