Brasero errors - constantly

Postby diykev » Mon Sep 21, 2009 9:46 pm

I have been bouncing around testing different distros on test systems, but always use Mint on my laptop. I think on all the distros I get these really annoying errors in Brasero and this includes Mint 7 - 64bit and 32bit when I burn ISO images and with some just regular data burns to cd or dvd drives.

The errors are usually several lines and sometimes include" User does not have access to this device, just now I tried to burn another iso of the kde mint distro for testing and I got the error again, I tried posting before but couldn't find anyone that knew the answer.

Here are my errors:

BraseroReadom stderr: addr: 287872 cnt: 64
BraseroReadom: called: brasero_job_get_output_type

the number for the addr: varies but the cnt: 64 is persistent through all of the lines.

I didn't get the access denied portion, but 99 percent of the time I get that. My account is just the one I used at install.

The end of the log is braserochecksumimage called brasero_job_error

then asked to stop because of an error
error = 24
message = 'some files may be corrupted on the disc"

It normally comes out that my copy or data is fine and when I tried the kde version I never get these errors, I was also going to install k3b just to get past this but I figured someone must know. I have posted before with no results.

THANKS in advance!!!

It's been stated ere in the forums many times that people, including me, have had issues with Brasero. Just go to and install GnomeBaker. Short of installing a KDE app (K3b), this is your best route. Good luck!
They'll all look at me and say,
Hey look at him! I'll never live that way.
But that's okay -
They're just afraid to change.

Like most others I was having many problems with Brasero Disk-burner.

I finally, deleted it and installed K3b from the Mint repositories.
Never had another problem or 'error' when burning a disk.
