Google Earth

Postby awcreamsoda » Mon Jun 18, 2007 6:48 pm

Everytime I try to download and install Google Earth on from Software and Applications on the Linux Mint Portal I seem to get a message that my APT is broken and has been repaired since my last install. It only happens with Google Earth. So far that is my only complaint about Linux Mint. But it would be nice to get the mintinstall to install Google Earth.

Anybody have similat problems? How did you fix it.

I have installed and uninstalled Google Earth an number of times, both from MintInstall and Synaptic. Installation was finally successful a couple of times but every time I tried to run the program, it kicked me out to the Cassandra log-in screen.

Google Earth

What I did to finally get a good and stable install of Google Earth was to download the .bin from Google and install it through the console. It was fast and quite simple to do and, of course, very stable.
