Pix does not display thumbnails in the browser

Post by murrrf »

OS: Linux Mint 20 Ulyana
Kernel: 5.4.0-54-generic x86_64
Desktop: MATE 1.24.0
Pix version: 2.4.11

When I enter a folder in the embedded browser, placeholders are displayed instead of thumbnails.
This happens when there are more images in a folder than can fit on one screen without scrolling. If I open the image and go back to the browser, all the placeholders change to thumbnails, but if I go to a different folder and go back, only the placeholders are displayed again.
I also found that if I enable the file properties panel in the browser and place it on the right, the thumbnails are immediately displayed. However, I do not have a widescreen monitor, so I prefer this panel to be below the folder list, in which case the problem with displaying thumbnails is present.
Changing the settings through the Pix itself and through dconf did not lead to anything.
Is this a problem with my system or a bug in Pix? What can I do to display thumbnails immediately after entering a folder, assuming the file's properties panel is not located on the right?
