Hi.
I am just now testing Ubuntu 9.10, before running Mint. As I an remember Mint had support for .IMG files from the start. Could you please tell me what application that mint uses for burning .IMG because it worked good from the start.

Rename the .IMG file to a .ISO file and then burn as an image using Brasero. Should work.
