I've been using Kdenlive for a year, but my old system was very outdated and therefore unstable and would constantly freeze, crash or take the whole night to render a project. Very frustrating, so over Christmas a new machine was built with top specs by a friend. This has been running fine until Wednesday night when it froze (perhaps I had too many other apps open). I restarted my PC, intending to continue the next day. When I reload the the Kdenlive project, it asks for me to reload a handful of missing clips recursively, manually or to use temp placeholders, and when I do - it crashes.
The reason I mentioned my old system is that because of all the regular crashes, I would constantly save the project and also "save as" a new one with the tag of the day, month, year. That way I could always go back having lost a day or two but not all of it. Just a habit I got from the old system. So there are at least 20 versions of the project with the tag # 15th march, 18th march, ect, going back months. None of them upload and I get the same issue. It does upload a different, far smaller single video edited into smaller pieces without other clip elements (music, images, ect). So Kdenlive is working. It also allows me to upload and edit new videos.
I removed Kdenlive (flatpak) using the software package and reinstalled it (just me being green, crossing fingers), tried to upload the project and it crashed.
That was yesterday.
I also, after reading the beginner's guide I had a look at System Information; and the crash reports since Wednesday Night, for the dozens upon dozens of times I've had a crash to do with Kdenlive, it reads as follows;
The package providing /app/bin/kdenlive could not be found.
If you want to generate a stack trace for this crash report, please reinstall it.
# Not sure if it's related or matters, but there are also a handful of reports of "(caja)" and "(xreader-thumbna)" in the crash reports bin since Wednesday.
thank you for reading.
