SOLVED..Evolution quit working with icloud email

SOLVED..Evolution quit working with icloud email

I have used Evolution for my email with Icloud mail for a few years now and have never had an issue before. Today it failed to work and I am not sure why.
When I start with terminal it says this; not sure what it means though. Has anyone else had an issue today?

Never mind, I think it may have become obsolete. Using thunderbird until I find something better.

Same here. At the same time there happened periodical problems with other accounts that I had set up with Online Accounts

I haven't found any info related to this online. Its too bad because I like that evolution was easy to work with and configure. Luckily everything was backed up through icloud and no data was lost. It was easy enough to import to thunderbird. I will stay with tb for now and see how it goes. Not happy though :x

I knew I should have checked past posts before creating a new topic :(

The Gnome community are aware of this issue (something to do with folder lists and parse errors and have worked out a fix for Fedora.

I just raised a topic here asking about if/how that code solution can be ported to Debian / LM.

Hi, thanks for the info. There is another post here to do with this. It looks like evolution may be working again in the future. Have no idea when though. I hope this doesn't become a regular thing, I have used evolution for quite a while now and really liked it because it was an install, setup, and forget application that just worked.

not good,
I was just now trying to install it on a Win7 PC for an elderly lady whose husband has dementia,

therefore, changes in things aren't allowed, so I blocked Win7 updates several years ago.

then, just this week, their AT&T email account sparked and lost their password, they were using MS Outlook....

so, I looked for a replacement that they could use.....

it will NOT import Vcard files so that their email contacts list can be restored :twisted: :twisted:

now I have to find something else, and I personally hate TB, never had so much trouble configuring an email program in my life.
