Thunderbird-multiple errors....(SOLVED)

Post by tenfoot »

Using Thunderbird 78.8.1 (64bit)on Linum Mintv20.1

Cannot get messages.I don't know whether it is a Thunderbird problem or Linux Mint,so am coming to this Forum as a first step.

When I launchThunderbird via a terminal command I get the following output.

Code: Select all

  $ thunderbird
[calBackendLoader] Using Thunderbird's libical backend
console.debug: "Successfully loaded OpenPGP library librnp.so from /usr/lib/thunderbird/librnp.so"
console.warn: "[l10nregistry] Attempting to synchronously load file\n resource:///chrome/en-US/locale/en-US/calendar/messenger/openpgp/msgReadStatus.ftl while it's being loaded asynchronously."
JavaScript error: resource://gre/modules/ActorManagerChild.jsm, line 297: TypeError: singletons is null
JavaScript error: resource://gre/modules/ActorManagerChild.jsm, line 297: TypeError: singletons is null
JavaScript error: resource://gre/modules/ActorManagerChild.jsm, line 297: TypeError: singletons is null
Extension error: Error while loading 'jar:file:///usr/lib/thunderbird/omni.ja!/chrome/messenger/search-extensions/twitter/manifest.json' (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND) resource://gre/modules/Extension.jsm:570 :: readJSON/</<@resource://gre/modules/Extension.jsm:570:20
onStopRequest@resource://gre/modules/NetUtil.jsm:128:18

console.log: (new Error("Cannot load required OTR library", "resource:///modules/OTRLib.jsm", 75))
console.debug: "public keys: 0, secret keys: 0"
console.debug: "Successfully loaded optional OpenPGP library libgpgme.so.11 from system's standard library locations"
console.debug: "gpgme version: 1.13.1-unknown" p/code]

I have no idea whatsoever what this indicates and seek the wisdom of members to point me to the right path, please?

However, it just works. No problems so far.

Mine is set up as IMAP ( not pop3) as my gmail emails get forwarded to/through Thunderbird for viewing. So given mine just works..I have no reason to believe that
Cannot load require OTR library
is the source of the problem.

Hopefully a much more experience Thunderbird user on Linux here will notice this and chime him ( probably SMG or another). --

Thank you for your prompt response. The whole error message was gibberish to me:-) However, whatever it was, I tried again 30minutes ago and Thunderbird did its stuff and downloaded loads of messages. Computers and software have minds of their own and this poor soul will never fully understand them.

I am now very happy geriatric and have marked this subject SOLVED.

Yeah..I couldn't agree more once in a while as it seems I'd ask myself back when I used to use Windows
Do I need to call a dadgum exorcist?
