Caja not connecting to ssh server

Post by EntropyZer0 »

(I hope this is not a duplicate but the forum search ignores the word "ssh" because it is too common and google didn't help me.)

The title really says it all:
Whenever I try to connect to my ssh server via caja, it just says
Could not display "sftp://<snip>/".
Error: Connection failed
Please select another viewer and try again.
I would provide a more verbose error message but that is all I could find - starting caja from command line doesn't give any output either.

And yes, I can connect to the server using ssh - both using my pubkey (which ssh automatically detects since it is in ~/.ssh/ as well as forcing password authentification.
This used to work using caja as well - in fact I still have a bookmark that I used to click to get to my remote files.

As far as I am aware there were no changes on the server that could cause this.
Sadly I cannot say exactly when this stopped working as I haven't tried to use caja to connect to the server in a couple of months so I can't pinpoint a specific update that might have cuased this issue.

My caja version is the latest that my package manager has: 1.22.2-2+tricia.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
