K3b and burning CD's in .mp3 format (Solved)

Post by frostymusic »

Hello all,
I like to burn mp3's for my cars CD player. I have tried Brasero, XFburn and the last one K3b. After CD's were burned, they all came out in.wav files and not mp3. Will the .wav files work in car CD player? Or am I missing something where my sources are mp3, the programs convert them to .wav and I am missing a setting in the K3b software?
Thank you.

In e.g. xfburn try making a "Data Composition" of the mp3 files rather than an "Audio CD", which converts the mp3 files to wav-type uncompressed format.
Please edit your original post title to include [SOLVED] if/when it is solved!
Your data and OS are backed up....right?

Depends--not all auto systems recognise mp3 from CD.
For those you must burn the mp3s as an audio disc.
+1 for xfburn in both cases.
For mp3 as data you can load 650-700 mb
For audio cds you can burn 70-80 minutes.
physics is physics
yes mp3s burned to audio cd will decode as .wav files.
Everything in life was difficult before it became easy.
