Hi, Newbie here, just installed Mint 20 today. Everything was working fine until I went into the Software Manager and tried to install GPart (partitioning tool). The SM asked for authentication, I typed in my password and got an error that said "Authentication Failed"...enter the correct password.
So after several futile attempts at entering the only password I created on the system at install, I opened the terminal and created a new password. This too was rejected.
This has me baffled. I did a complete software update session just minutes before this and it took my password several times with no problems at all.
I would appreciate any help you all can offer.
Thank you.
Additional:
After writing this I restarted Cinnamon and it is stuck at the Boot sequence...I get a terminal prompt that says GRUB
That's it...won't boot into Mint 20.
