I need to install Microsoft Teams for an online meeting. I am running Linux Mint 18. The .deb file downloaded from Microsoft's website, but Gdebi seems not to recognise it as valid. The error message reads: " Dependency not satisfiable:libgtk-3-0(>=3.19.12)"
I can't get any sense out of Microsoft's automated Virtual Agent system.

Re: Trouble installing Microsoft Teams
Hello, ForestSimon.
So the Teams software for Linux depends on a software package named libgtk-3-0, version 3.19.12 or above.
Which version of libgtk-3-0 is present on your Linux Mint 18?
You can find out the answer by executing the terminal command
Please, share the output of that commandline with us.

P.S.:
Please, note that Linux Mint 18 reached the end of its supported life time by the end of April 2021.
I am not sure whether Linux Mint 18 had got the softare package libgtk-3-0 at all and if so, which version.

Re: Trouble installing Microsoft Teams
Well, Linux Mint 18 reached the end of its supported life in April 2021. Upgrading LM to a supported release, like e.g. 19.3 or 20.1, is advisable anyway.

Re: Trouble installing Microsoft Teams
I need to use Teams for various and have no end of troubles with it. I've decided to just it in a browser (I use Vivaldi, but also Chrome/Chromium). Must less trouble and much more reliable.

I'm running Mint 19.3 Cinnamon and the Teams app works fine for me here.
