Bug in Package

Post by hrlngrv »

I don't want to create an Ubuntu One account in order to use Launchpad.

There's a bug in gtk-chtheme. That package contains a .desktop file which includes an Icon= value which refers to a file which isn't included in that package nor is installed by various other packages which populate /usr/share/pixmaps.

You can't file a bug on Launchpad without an account. Having somebody else report the bug and be the go between you and the maintainer isn't very effective. Just register an account. If you only use it for that, what's the trouble? You're the one using this program so you're the most suited to interact with the maintainer on this.

I followed the links from the Ubuntu package page https://packages.ubuntu.com/focal/gtk-chtheme and the upstream source doesn't include a .desktop file or an icon. Looking further — as this package comes from Ubuntu universe repository so is basically unmaintained at Ubuntu and just pulled from Debian once for each new Ubuntu release — the issue is already identified by the automatic checks that Debian package tracker does: https://appstream.debian.org/sid/main/i ... theme.html
