A WordPad equivalent?
Hi, everyone.
I'm looking for a word processor that can be a little lighter (on RAM) than LibreOffice Writer.
Perhaps, An equivalent to Windows WordPad? or any suggestions in general that you know of.
What do you think?

Interoperability
What use is a Word Processor when you can't share your documents with your friends? AbiWord is able to read and write all industry standard document types, such as OpenOffice.org documents, Microsoft Word documents, WordPerfect documents, Rich Text Format documents, HTML web pages and many more.

Abiword can save as many types, including .doc but not .docx(not that it should make a difference)HuginnMuninn wrote: ⤴Sun Jun 20, 2021 1:17 amThanks. This was one of the first suggestions in my mind. Now you made me sure.

Is this for ASCII code? I use KATE or GEDIT. Of course you can always be a big man and just use VI as the editor.
Anything else for ASCII is too bulky

Yeah I understand. No, actually I was just looking for a program that's lighter than Libre and saves in doc/docx.linux_trojan wrote: ⤴Sun Jun 20, 2021 7:52 am Is this for ASCII code? I use KATE or GEDIT. Of course you can always be a big man and just use VI as the editor.

Re: A WordPad equivalent?
Lighter on ram than LibreWriter? (scratches chin curiously) How much ram does yours ( and please mention the version) use? I've been typing a multiple page paper for a good hour and it hasn't even reached 200MBs worst case yet in gnome-system-monitor ( LM 20.1 Cinnamon here) Are you trying to use LibreWriter on a 16+ year old machine to have to worry about that small of ram consumption for LibreWriter, or am I misunderstanding something?HuginnMuninn wrote: ⤴Sat Jun 19, 2021 6:26 pm Hi, everyone.
