The best way to eliminate any error message is to fix the problem that triggers the message....

Without some technical information, we can’t help you. Please post an inxi -Fxxxzr report. This will give us a concise overview of your hardware and on how Mint sees it.

Here is how to generate the report and post it:
Open a terminal window (Ctrl-Alt-t). Make it fullscreen to avoid unneeded linebreaks or chopped lines. Execute the command

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxxxzr
exactly as it has been typed here.

Mark the complete text output which the command will display with your mouse.
Press the keyboard shortcut <Shift><Ctrl>C to copy the marked text into the clipboard.
Enclose the results between the code markers by selecting </> from the mini toolbar above the textbox where you type your reply then paste <Ctrl>V them in your reply between the code markers
Results
.

The results will help us to help you.

If
Partition:
ID-1: / size: 241.83 GiB used: 220.07 GiB (91.0%) fs: ext4 dev: /dev/sda
isn't causing this issue, if you are not careful then it will cause issues in the future.
240 GB is a fair size so I think you have some things in there that need looking at.

How many old kernels you have is worth looking at.
Do you use Timeshift? If so where are the snapshots saved??

I have never used a system optimiser, so can't really recommend or not.
I have always preferred to 'do it myself' rather than rely on a program to do it.
is well worth a look through to solve all sorts of issues..

I think clearing out some space can only benefit your system. Hopefully it will also speed up your pc as a side effect.
The first thing that you need to do is to discover exactly what is taking up your space, report it back here & I am sure you will get some sensible suggestions.
I believe that Disk Usage Manager is available from the repository & provides a graphical view of you partition, along with the ability to 'drop down' through the high usage Folders to discover the actual files/folders that are consuming large spaces..

Probably better to look at what you have on the disk before doing anything drastic. I would delete the Timeshift data from within Timeshift. Then uninstall Timeshift. But if you have sudo rights you could do

Code: Select all

sudo rm -r /timeshift

I have looked at where you talked about. I have seen these warnings. What should I do?
