Firefox 89.0.1 update fail | themes broken - Linux mint 20.1
Hi,
I recently upgraded my Firefox version from 88.0.1 to 89.0.1 latest via linux mint update manager. So i tried to download the source directly from mozillas website and it gives the same result.
Here is the print screen : I have added a screenshot here how it looks like, and i have no idea how to fix it. My previously profiles are useless as they are now only compatible with the latest version of Firefox that's not working right now.

Hello, Egner.
I am not so sure whether the linked thread will help or not.
Reason:
The linked thread had been started, because the new Firefox design (Proton) did not really please everybody.
The screenshot in your post above seems to suggest that Firefox 89.0.1 triggers a technical problem, not unlikely to be related to the graphical driver, which is in use on your system.
Therefore it would make sense if you shared your Linux Mint system information with us.
How this can be done can be found here: How to post your Linux Mint System Information (inxi report)
Regards,
Karl

Hello, Egner.
Thanks for sharing your system information (inxi report). Nothing there which strikes me as being problematic as such.
In the Graphics section, it can be seen that your system has got an NVidia graphics card and uses a proprietary NVidia driver.
Maybe the source of your trouble is the following change, introduced by FF 89.0, specifically for NVidia cards:
Ironically, the FF 89.0.1 release notes mention a fix for precisely this WebRender, because it had caused trouble in FF 89.0.

The official supported display manager in Mint is LightDM. Your system is showing both GDM3 and LightDM. Which one is being used? Normal inxi output does not show both as being listed. Maybe that is somehow a factor.

Why only do I frequently miss this specific constellation in inxi outputs?

Re: Firefox 89.0.1 update fail | themes broken - Linux mint 20.1
Have you had a chance to try Firefox 89.0.2 yet? Or it is also acting the same?
I am not familiar with how well Mint runs with all the these separate partitions, but I did notice you /home (where Firefox stores info) is pretty close to full. Maybe that is a factor in the issue?

Re: Firefox 89.0.1 update fail | themes broken - Linux mint 20.1
I have tried to use the latest firefox, and it is the same issue.
The disk space should be enough to run firefox. even if i delete files it will be the same issue.. :/
I have used this partition setup since linux mint 18. And every server i have use the same setup like i use on my computer. So it can't be the issue.
Firefox 88.0.1 works without any issues at all.

Maybe someone else will have ideas. I know the FF change was causing issues for some people with certain themes, but am not really familiar with the specifics.

Unfortunately i think i will going for a reinstall, and make backups of all my profiles.
