On ubuntu 18.04 I had setup a mechanism which allowed ldap users to authenticate and mount their cifs home space
On mint20 that is failing. The ldap authentication works but the users home space does not mount
I believe I installed the cifs-utils & libpam-mount packages and then hacked some files
/etc/security/pam_mount.conf.xml
/etc/pam.d/[login,sshd]
When I check the versions of software I see
mint 20
ii libpam-mount:amd64 2.16-10ubuntu0.20.04.1 amd64 PAM module that can mount volumes for a user session
ii libpam-mount-bin 2.16-10ubuntu0.20.04.1 amd64 PAM module that can mount volumes for a user session - helper
ii cifs-utils 2:6.9-1ubuntu0.1 amd64 Common Internet File System utilities
whereas
ubuntu 18.04
ii cifs-utils 2:6.8-1ubuntu1.1 amd64 Common Internet File System utilities
ii libpam-mount 2.16-3ubuntu0.1 amd64 PAM module that can mount volumes for a user session
Any help/advice or even better solutions on howto debug/resolve this would be sincerely appreciated
