Tweaked Firefox 2.0

Postby mattpg1 » Thu Dec 21, 2006 12:49 am

Mint 2.1 says: "Firefox 2.0 was tweaked so that it does go back to the previous page when you press the backspace key"

Can this Firefox be obtained separately of the rest of Mint 2.1?

Hi Matt

You might as well tweak your network settings while you are in

about:config

Filter keyword: network

the tweak the following settings ..

network.http.pipelining (change to TRUE)
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests (set to 10)

What this does in a nutshell, is turn on Http (web) pipelining so you can have more then one connection to a website, The second setting specifies that you want it to ask for (MAX) 10 connections to a host. This will result (if the provider supports more then 1 connection) that you are able to download ..say 10 parts of the website at a time. Keep in mind it does not work for all websites.
