Re: Install Quicken
Hello and welcome,
I don't think there is a version of Quicken that runs on Linux. You may find a good alternative here: https://alternativeto.net/software/quic ... form=linux

Re: Install Quicken
I've looked at kmymoney and installed. But there is issues with upgrading to the current version. Even from the terminal it is hard to do.
Any ideas?

Re: Install Quicken
Quicken gets reasonable ratings running under crossover, so it is probably okay under wine. Crossover is the commercial version of wine - takes the pain out of installing it and installing windows applications.

Quicken under wine? Personal use may be different but wine (and its derivatives)is simply not reliable enough for business use. IMO you'd have to be nuts to do that for business.

Re: Install Quicken
So is there a way to upgrade kmymoney to new version? Software Manager doesn't have current version.

What features do you need that are know to exist only in the newer version?

Re: Install Quicken
You can probably save/export your data file in the current version, DL another version and import the data file to it.

Re: Install Quicken
First try installing under WINE (www.winehq.org). If this does not work you might consider a Virtual Machine running Win 10.
The last option, a Win 10 laptop.

Re: Install Quicken
I have been running Quicken 2000 for Windows successfully using Wine on Linux Mint for years. It can be done! When you get it working you can transfer your data over from a Windows installation, if you have one, by copying (for my version) files Q3.DIR, QDATA.QDF, QDATA.QEL and QDATA.QSD into /home/[yourusername]/.wine/drive_c/quickenw. Then using Quicken file menu select open file C:\quickenw\QDATA .
I have tried Linux alternatives but sadly none are as sophisticated or easy to use as Quicken. If I had to use one I would choose Homebank.
