Hi all,
My system has started throwing warnings about being down to 800 MB of free space on my /root partition, and it seems that the disk hog is this folder:
/var/lib/flatpak/repo/objects
....with almost 8 GB of data.
The objects folder is filled with hundreds of other folders (named with just 2 alphanumeric digits), and they all seem to be filled with random graphical objects.
Do they belong to one particular app? Or a range of apps?
Even the oldest modified date on one of these subfolders is just a week ago.
Can I delete anything without penalty? Will I break anything?
I did a google search, but didn't manage to find anything particularly illuminating about what is generating all these files.
Thanks in advance.
What can I remove from /var/lib/flatpak/repo/objects

If
flatpak list
returns anything, then you have some installed in that directory.-

Tried "sudo flatpak repair" but it did not remove anything from the objects folder, nor recover any disk space.
As for list, this is what I have apparently:

That means that the all the data in the objects directory is needed for the flatpaks that you've listed. If this were my problem, I'd go through the list and work out what flatpaks I could live without or no longer want then remove them. Next, I would look for PPAs that provided up to date versions of the native applications. For example, I have OBS, GIMP, Audacity, nvidia, pavucontrol and vlc, which are all in your list, but mine are native.
Re: What can I remove from /var/lib/flatpak/repo/objects
Along with @Kadaitcha Man's suggestions, you don't need all of those nvidia* packages except for nvidia-460-91-03. For whatever reason, this continues to be a problem with flatpak (keeping drivers around that aren't being used). One other thing to try is
Now, for the future, you need to take a serious look at your partition layout. If you decide to continue using flatpaks and your /home partition has lots of space, you might be better off moving your flatpaks there. You will need to reinstall them all, unfortunately. Let me know if you're interested and I'll walk you through it.
flatpak uninstall --unused

Re: What can I remove from /var/lib/flatpak/repo/objects
Along with @Kadaitcha Man's and @ajgringo619 suggestions, I recommend using the Scribus AppImage. I started using this AppImage when 1.5.1 was release - it has been rock-solid, and I use it almost exclusively. I also have Scribus 1.4.6 installed on my system for backwards compatibility with earlier versions of Scribus - the AppImage has never interfered with the installed version, and vice versa.

Thanks guys!
I've done a bit of cleanup and recovered some space.
If I need more assistance, I'll sing out!
Cheers.

FWIW, my '/var/lib/flatpak/repo/objects' contains 12.7 GB, and I plan to leave it alone./var/lib/flatpak/repo/objects

flatpak list
returns this:

$ flatpak list
