Notification applet: no user-configurable timeout?

Post by BeyondLies_MintForum »

Am I right in thinking that the user cannot set the time for which a notification displays (on Cinnamon on Mint 20.2)? The notifications applet has the option, 'Remove notifications after their timeout is reached' but I believe that this timeout is set by the notification rather than by the user.

Thank you very much, ('Commander'?) Vimes.

Indeed! It seems I have to edit a .js file. That is far from ideal, but it will do.

In dconf-editor, there is the following option:

Yes, but is that *the same* option? It looks to be an option for 'storing', not displaying.
