New TLP update causing problems.

Post by SuperSapien »

I just had an update for TLP recently and the fan on my Lenovo Thinkpad Edge T580 is going on and off constantly it was acting normally before the update.
Note: I believe I'm using the PPA for TLP.

It's probably best to file your bug report here:
https://github.com/linrunner/TLP/issues

Note that this page:
https://linrunner.de/tlp/support/index.html
says:

Code: Select all

When asking for support, always provide the full output of
sudo tlp-stat
In the meantime, maybe Timeshift back to confirm the problem is with the latest update.

Are you sure that the problem is with tlp? It can also be kernel update or bios/uefi update. Disable tlp and see if there are any changes. Edit /etc/tlp.conf and change line #TLP_ENABLE=1 to TLP_ENABLE=0, save, reboot and check tlp status with sudo tlp-stat.
