[Solved] Not liking new changes

Post by Cyprus127 »

Hey all.

Did an update, and i don't like the new folder thing installed in V19.3 from V19.1.

So how can i change the folder thing to the older version.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I don't know anything about the "new folder thing", but a Timeshift back to a previous snapshot should fix your problem.

A new theme chosen? You can revert it back.

run Menu - Preferences - Welcome Screen:
click First Steps, at Desktop/Panel Layout select Traditional

run Menu - Preferences - Themes:
for Windows Borders & Icons & Controls options select Mint-X
for Mouse Pointer option select DMZ-White
for Desktop option select Linux Mint

LM 19.3 Traditional:

LM 19.3 Modern:

The only thing I didn't like about Traditional was the panel icons were not grouped, but I suspect that could be fixed.

You might be able to find a theme that mimics LM 19.1 Traditional.

sorry i didn't mess a bit up. by update, i meant new install of Linux Mint Cinnamon. i'm not ready to go with kernel version 5+ yet as some of my hardware may not play well with the new kernel.

Hello, Cyprus127.

The solution to your problem is right inside your screenshot. The first icon right next to the (non)editable address bar is a toggle.
It switches between "Editable path on/off".

I've been using it (Linux Mint in a range of versions) for a decade or more and not noticed it so you aren't the only one.

Learn something every day. :D
