[Maybe Solved] Recent Problems with Evolution Mail Client

Post by JezekiljMonk »

Last two days I and some of my colleagues had the same trouble with Evolution which was issuing errors like

Failed to authenticate: The name :1.12 was not provided by any .service files

I don't know exactly what was going on but what helped in my case and also in my colleague's case was the following:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1632211

I opened Terminal and typed

Code: Select all

evolution --force-shutdown
It said it could not find ID for Evolution, still it closed a bunch of sub-services that were earlier visible with ps aux | grep evolution

Then I logged out of my Mint Account and then logged back in. Upon starting Evolution it worked fine again.

Hope someone could clear up this situation as this was only second case in two years that I was troubled by this application.
