Open at Startup Appointment Reminder
I am still searching for what I would think is a basic application for a home computer user: an appointment reminder that opens on the desktop with the week's appointments on the desktop. The only one I know is Rainlendar, but for unknown reasons it does not work well on my Linux Mint 19.1 system. Is there no other?

You can set your reminders in gnome-calendar (Calendar from the Menu) and just run the command
gnome-calendar
on each startup (login).
