Xscreensaver
So, I suppose this is just a minor issue, but when I start the Xscreensaver (whether it is activated at startup or activated manually), it says that it is not running and asks if I would like to launch it now. It is logged as a type of crash, but it seems to be only an annoyance.

Re: Xscreensaver
I am running an Asus laptop with Linux MInt Cinnamon 20.2. The screensaver that came with the OS is pretty much useless, so I downloaded Xscreensaver11 and the associated addons.
My question, I suppose, is why it asks if I wanted to launch it -- even if I have it set up as a startup app? However, it may have something to do with the fact that it is running as an app rather than the original screensaver?
I think I may have answered my own question and may render this thread obsolete.

Re: Xscreensaver
This works for me: autostarts at logon. Took me a while to get the right command line when first using it... Also, only use one screensaver: make sure the default screen saver for cinnamon is not being started.
Re: Xscreensaver
Any idea how exactly I am supposed to disable other screensavers?
I can see I only have xscreensaver running, but it never appears, instead my screen just locks with a blank screen
