Updating to Mate 20.3 and/or Firefox (SOLVED)
I have Mate 20.2 running and set up the way I want it. What will going to 20.3 do to my system? Including Firefox?

Be aware that LM 20.2 will continue to be supported until April 2025. So, no need to upgrade to LM 20.3 if you don't want to.frostymusic wrote: I have Mate 20.2 running and set up the way I want it.

LM 20.2 is receiving the same Firefox updates that LM 20.3 is receiving.frostymusic wrote: Including Firefox?

Speaking for myself, I wouldn't call it that. The Mozilla version of Firefox defaults to Google for its search, and this is nothing new, and you are still free to change that.frostymusic wrote: I guess there is some controversy about Fire Fox and Google

Edit 2: And when I say it's nothing new, I'm referring to the Mozilla version that you could download from Mozilla prior, and is implemented now. There are indeed differences between it and the former Linux Mint version. See the details in the links I provided.

You will download and install some ~110,000 files updating your system.
Nothing changes in the appearance of your desktop (Mate 1.24 replaced by 1.26, same aspect).
You will have the new thingy app and flatpak 1.12.1.
All Ubuntu stuff remains unchanged. Your home remains unchanged.
About Firefox, just read https://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=4259
Regards,
MN
