I find that since upgrading from 20.2 to 20.3 Cinnamon my Browsers are very slow; both Firefox and Google Chrome.
Thanks,
Michael.

Re: Since Upgrade Browser slow
Welcome to the forum, Michael.
Some people have seen their graphics drivers or kernels change when they upgraded. Perhaps one of those is a factor in what you have noticed. Please give us information about your install by entering this command in a terminal:
inxi -Fxxxrz
Click

from the mini toolbar above the textbox where you type your reply and then place your cursor between the code markers and paste the results of the command between the code markers [code]

Re: Since Upgrade Browser slow
It is fine to just post your response as you originally did. If you feel you have to quote and you are not highlighting any part of the quote, then just leave the quote empty rather than duplicating the entire post just prior.
If you have the latest BIOS/UEFI installed (sometimes ASUS puts updates which "improve system performance"), then the only suggestion I have right now is to try the 5.13 kernel and see if that helps this situation. I place 6th-gen Intel is in the category that it might or might not help to upgrade. (Usually, 8th-gen and newer I definitely recommend upgrading.) I do not know of any reason why the browser (and just the browsers) would be affected by the upgrade of Linux Mint.
Instructions for upgrading to the 5.13 kernel:
System:
Kernel: 5.4.0-96-generic x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 9.3.0
Desktop: Cinnamon 5.2.7 wm: muffin 5.2.0 dm: LightDM 1.30.0
Distro: Linux Mint 20.3 Una base: Ubuntu 20.04 focal
So I'm not sure why you are using bionic repos. Bionic is LM19.

Instructions for upgrading to the 5.13 kernel:
- Open Update Manager.
- Select View > Linux Kernels and click Continue.
- Make sure 5.13 is selected on the left panel and then click the top-most option on the right panel. An "Install" button will appear.
- Install the kernel and then reboot for it to become active.

Re: Since Upgrade Browser slow
Thank you for your assistance.
I am new to Linux and was trying various software installs, so maybe I did this unknowingly.
And this?

What does this mean?I do want to point out your install is focal
And this?
Can I fix these? So I'm not sure why you are using bionic repos. Bionic is LM19.
Thanks,

Re: Since Upgrade Browser slow
Linux Mint 20 versions are based on Ubuntu 20.04 which is also code-named "focal". That means when you add repos you want to make sure you get the "focal" version so you have the proper version.
Linux Mint 19 versions are based on Ubuntu 18.04 which is code-named "bionic".
I would presume you could uninstall them and then install the correct version, but I have not used those packages so I do not know how easy/difficult it might be to remove them.

Re: Since Upgrade Browser slow
Thank you very much.
The change in Kernel seemed to have worked, my Browsers are working as before the upgrade.
