I have been trying to download a fresh iso of Linux Mint 20.3 and have found that the local mirror service will not download it. I tried it on one of my Windows machines too but got a message that it could not be downloaded securely.
Any advice really appreciated.

some of the servers in this locality .. are Not always up-to-date.
you will find the same issue, once you've got the LinuxMint System working okay,
and it then asks you to switch to an Local Mirror.
do be cautious, as you could find that some "updates" do fail to be available,
and you thus will have to switch mirrors, on the odd occasion.

Yes Pierre I tried out a new drive in the machine this morning - four times and each time it froze and I was using a fresh ISO too. My boot-up time is still so slow still even with the new drive which was a newer one that I have now gone back to. It is making me wonder if using Linux Mint is now a viable option because of the freezing and slow boot times etc
I don't know just what to do about it or even try another distro but am still concerned that the same thing will happen.
